Find out what they can do on an empty stomach

You have the power to fight hunger, poverty and injustice. When you participate in the Famine, you make a difference in the lives of children and communities around the world. It’s only 30 hours. You can show your friends, parents and people in your community that committing a bit of time or making a donation can change lives.

How does it work?

Participants collect donations, then go 30 hours without eating to experience hunger first-hand. During the Famine, your group will take part in a variety of activities – some of them small, some of them involving participants from across Canada – to help you learn about hunger and to have fun while you do.

So get involved

Sign up as a group leader and organize a Famine event – all the tools and resources are right here on this site. Or find a group in your community and join in. You can earn volunteer hours by doing the 30 Hour Famine and, more importantly, you can raise enough money to save thousands of lives.
