NOTE: If you are pregnant, diabetic, breastfeeding, under 12 years of age, recovering from surgery or experiencing chronic illness or gastrointestinal disease, please do not do the 30 Hour Famine. If you are not sure if you should do the Famine, please talk to your family doctor.
A. Make sure you check out the Planning your event section for ideas in planning your event. You can also contact us at 1-888-8FAMINE, and we'll connect you to a Famine Rep in your area.

A. The 30 Hour Famine has committed to funding community projects around the world that help children in need in areas of health, nutrition and exploitation. However, due to the recent earthquake that has struck Haiti, the money you raise will also go towards supporting the relief efforts that are needed in Haiti.
A. The money that was raised for the 30 Hour Famine last year has already been put to use in the field to fund different projects helping children in need.
A. At this time it is difficult for us to determine, as the need in Haiti continues to be assessed due to the ever-growing need. The more money that people donate towards the Famine, the more is available to assist the relief efforts in Haiti.
A. We cannot guarantee that all the money you raise through the 30 Hour Famine will go to helping Haiti relief efforts. Prior to the earthquake in Haiti, the 30 Hour Famine had committed its funds to other needy community projects around the world. However, the more money that people donate towards the 30 Hour Famine, the more is available to assist the relief efforts in Haiti.
A. Your group fundraising money will help to support children & families in need all over the world as well as in Haiti.
A. Along with ongoing emergency relief efforts, in the immediate future, safe places for children to play will be established. These child friendly spaces will be integrated into settlement camps in and around Port-au-Prince. During rebuilding, temporary educational physical facilities will be established to provide structured learning opportunities for children. World Vision will also focus on the re-establishment of primary health care in Haiti by providing mobile clinics, disease outbreak control, and the distribution of essential drugs and medical supplies.
